Stratonowitsch and Figaro Seychelles India Day Champions!!

German Andre Stratonowitsch and Ms. Dericka Figaro is the 1st Grand Prix Winner for the 1st Seychelles India Chess Competition which took place last Saturday the 26th September 2015, from 9 am to 3:30 pm at the Ex-assembly Hall!!


Twice the usual numbers of players decided to participate in the tournament this time, which was a total amount of 50 Chesslers, along side Champions such as Hoareau's Pillay's, Dr's, Teachers and even Parent's couldn't resist the excitement!!

The Tournament was played on a 7 round bases Swiss System(8 minutes each player), meaning the same players with the same points plays against each other. Hence the Stronger players end up playing stronger ones has they move up the ladder.

So, the Big battle took place in the in the 6th Round when Stratonowitsch faces, National Champion Mr. Benjamin Hoareau.
 "The game with Hoareau wasn't  easy but we both ended in a draw in the End, which I am satisfied in the end!" says S.Andre with Seychess Blog!!

Hence Therefor which 2014 National Champion Mr. Benjamin Hoareau had to accept the 2nd place followed by 18 year old Timothy Kate for the Bronze Medal...(see pic below)...

After losing only against Stratonowitsch, Seychelloises only Women Candidate Master Ms. Dericka had enough points in total to conquer the Gold Prize Medal for the Women Category;

Followed by Mrs. Rachelle Hoareau for the Silver Medalist;

Which was then continued by New Comer Janani Krishnamoorthy;

Under 18 Boys Medalist;
Gold - Samuel Nalletamby
Silver - Kelvin Zhu
Bronze - Adreus Hoareau

Under 18 Girls Medalist;
Gold - Elgine Crea
Silver - Jessee Eulentin
Bronze - Dania Dupres


Under 14 Boys Medalist;
1st - Rishy Goultham
2nd - Metha Subir Singh
3rd - Jean-Jaque Eulentin
